A gentleman fatally shot a few of his fellow workers at a rural Maryland production facility Thursday before currently being wounded in an exchange of gunfire with state troopers, authorities mentioned.
3 employees of Columbia Machine, Inc., in Smithsburg, were killed and a fourth was injured, Washington County sheriff’s officers explained. A law enforcement official who first confirmed the fatalities also at first stated 4 people had been wounded in the assault.
A Maryland point out trooper who exchanged gunfire with the suspected shooter on a highway around the assault endured a minor harm, and the suspect was captured alive, the regulation enforcement official explained.

The trooper who was shot was “performing properly” at a healthcare facility, Dofflemyer stated.

The space of the assault is about 8 miles east of Camp David, the presidential retreat. There is no indication the violence was related to the retreat.
