Brittany’s App of the Week: Zoom Apps

By Brittany Lieu, Marketing Consultant at Heinz Marketing

This week’s app is not just one, but a full marketplace of apps. With Zoom fatigue constantly creeping on our remote work routines, it’s easy to feel drained and disconnected after a day’s worth of virtual meetings.

With Zoom Apps, you can find new ways to make meetings less mundane, more engaging, productive and fun for your team.

Organized by category and various filters, including app type, zoom product, and user role, you can explore 2,122 third-party apps and integrations for the next zoom happy hour, status call or even virtual event you host.

Here’s how to get started

  1. Make sure you’ve downloaded the latest version of Zoom’s desktop client.
  2. Open Zoom and click the “Apps” tab in the desktop client or in the toolbar of your next Zoom Meeting. (For some accounts, users may need admins to enable the Zoom Apps icon in the account settings for it to be visible in the desktop client and meeting toolbar.)
  3. Click “Discover” to see the list of available Zoom Apps and add the ones you want!

Zoom Apps

After exploring the marketplace myself, here are a few apps I’ve add to my list to try:

Timer – This one is plain and simple, but can be very handy. Timer works for both Zoom meetings and webinars and can help you manage time during your meeting. The app features a visual countdown in a panel adjacent to your Zoom screen, so you add a running timer for 5, 10, 15, 20 or 30 minutes or add a custom time length up to 100 minutes. Never run overtime or run out of time before you need to end the Zoom meeting.

Grain for Zoom – This app does it all, when it comes to transcribing, highlighting and sharing the most important parts of your Zoom meetings. Are you leading long discovery calls or presentations? Use Grain to create highlight clips, condense longer calls into 3-minute summaries and create custom workflows that push recordings automatically to your team’s other tools like Slack. With Grain, you no longer have to shift through hours of meeting recordings post-call to get the information you need.

AI Business Cards by Warmly – AI Business Cards combines traditional business cards and virtual meeting backgrounds into a simple Zoom app. Create personalized Zoom backgrounds that showcase your company name, job title and other facts about yourself. Skip the formal introductions at the start of each call, create uniformity across your team’s backgrounds and make it fun to get to know one another virtually with AI Business Cards.

Get exploring!

These are only a few of the many apps that can enhance your virtual meetings and events. Check out what else the Zoom App Marketplace has to offer and revamp how your zoom communications.
